National Truck Driver Appreciation Week Starts September 10th

Every year, the millions of truckers across the United States haul over 5 trillion ton-miles of freight, making sure that people can get the goods they need to improve their quality of life whether that is an air conditioning unit in the summer or kerosene fuel for the winter. The American Trucking Associations (ATA) knows more than anyone about the hard work a trucker puts into his or her career every day, and as such is starting a nationwide movement to appreciate truckers.

To start the week, ATA has collected money from sponsors with which to give out free goodies to truckers during the week, ranging from gifts as small as simple snacks and drinks to as significant as cooler bags and new seat cushions for trucks.

As of the current time of writing, listed sponsors participating in this event that are also integral participants in the industry include:

• Netradyne (dash cameras).
• Zonar (technological platform).
• Excargo (intermodal and warehouse trucking services).

It is also extremely likely, as what has happened in previous years, that other companies in the trucking industry may want to partake in offering bonuses to truckers in exchange for good publicity, such as truck stops offering free showers to its members or discounts on maintenance from repair shops, but at the time of writing this is a hopeful dream as nothing has been confirmed.
