USA Freedom Convoy Slated to Start February 25th
The Canadian Freedom Convoy and Blockade may be de facto over, but the movement has spread to other countries. One of these countries is right here, the United States. There were talks about when such an event would start, and it appears to now have a set date of February 25th.

The plan, as told by organizer and leader of the Freedom Convoy USA 2022 Kyle Sefcik, is for the convoy to leave Los Angeles on Friday and arrive at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. on March 1st, in time for the State of the Union Address.
Kyle Sefcik says that he has had 38,000 sign-ups. The numbers for the Canadian Convoy had been estimated to be 50,000 trucks, though some news organizations dispute that number. The only way to tell for sure if it will be bigger than the Canadian Convoy is to view it as it goes, but with the population of the United States being about 10x larger than Canada, it would hardly be a surprise.
With the Supreme Court already striking down the vaccine mandate for non-healthcare businesses, members of the USA Freedom Convoy have their individual reasons for participating. Some are standing in solidarity with Canadian truckers, while others are protesting issues plaguing the trucking industry such as a dearth of parking spaces.
Parallels to Canada?
It is currently unknown if the USA Freedom Convoy will transform into a blockade in Washington, D.C. as what happened in Ottawa.
Law enforcement in the area is all too aware of the events that transpired in Ottawa and is hoping to keep things from becoming too overwhelming.
“While monitoring the situation throughout the country, Maryland State Troopers from the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, the Automotive Safety Enforcement Division and barracks around the region are working with federal, state and local agencies to monitor developments,” Maryland State Police wrote in a statement. “State police are coordinating with public safety partners in neighboring states and will be ready to respond appropriately with adequate resources to ensure the free flow of traffic throughout the routes of travel.”
