New Government Website Shows Infrastructure Investment

If there is one issue that unites (almost) all Americans, it is investment in infrastructure such as our roads. The Biden Administration has released a website that is intended to track just that.

The website, located at “invest.gov”, is now available for the public to see how the government says that it is spending your taxpayer dollars to make America an easier place to live. The list of different types of infrastructure investments, both private and public, is expansive, including but not limited to:

• Road repair.
• Wildfire emergency preparedness.
• ADA compliance adjustments.
• Airport infrastructure.

It currently lists 32,000 different projects with a total valuation estimated at $479 billion.

The website was announced shortly after the Biden Administration starts a second round of its “Investing in America” tour, where the president will be traveling across the country discussing the future of all forms of American infrastructure.

“You can go down to every city, town, anywhere on the map and find out exactly how much we’ve invested so far, what the investment is for and how it’s going to affect your community,” Biden said of the new website during a meeting at the White House.

Beyond public infrastructure investment, the website also lists private investments that the federal government says has been brought on by its recent policies.

Conclusion

There are two reasons why we wanted to bring this website to your attention. First is so that you may see what road and bridge repair the federal government may be planning to do in your area and along your route(s), and the other to see where you may be able to get your foot in the door with contracting with the federal government in delivering resources. If you wish to perform the latter, you will need to sign up with the U.S. General Services Administration.

With the website only recently having been published, it is unknown as of this time as to whether or not it will be updated frequently, or if it will remain as a part of the White House’s website moving forward between presidential administrations. We think it is a cool concept and hope that it will last for decades to come.
