Iowa 80 Truckstop Expands to Include Warehouse
Iowa 80 Group, owners of the World’s Largest Truckstop and its neighbor, the Iowa 80 Trucking Museum, is adding another building into the fold with a new warehouse spanning 251,000 square feet.

The Iowa 80 Group says that 177,180 square feet of the warehouse will be used as their own distribution headquarters for their trucking accessories and merchandise that they sell under their brand, with the rest being available to rent for other uses.
The irony of this company using trucks to deliver trucking accessories from their retail website is not lost on us, but frankly, with it being situated in Iowa, it is less poetry and more practicality to enlist truckers to ship their goods. Plus, before they start their journey, truckers can check out all of the interesting stuff at both the museum and the truckstop.
Another possibility for the remaining square footage would be to use it for increased floor space for the annual Walcott Truckers Jamboree.
The “Amazon” of Trucking?
With this expansion and investment into its online retailer space, the Iowa 80 Group is hoping to become the premier cyberspace destination for trucking-related parts, accessories, and merchandise. While other websites such as Amazon and Costco offer just about everything under the sun for the consumer, the Iowa 80 Group believes that their increased knowledge on all things trucking will make them a trusted partner for trucking fleets nationwide, rather than those that just happen to pass by in Iowa.
Conclusion
It will be interesting to see how this company expands beyond just having an extremely large truckstop near the center of the country. Already it is expanding to other states, with similar albeit smaller truck stops in Illinois and North Carolina, both of which are expected to host their own Truckers Jamborees in the future. As they open more truck stops, the number of truck parking spaces will also increase, and as the current number of trucks to available parking spots exceeds 10 to 1, the industry can certainly use all the help it can get in that regard!
