Texas Bans Oversized Loads for Solar Eclipse
When there is a total solar eclipse, traffic as a result of people traveling to see it increases, as was shown during the 2017 total solar eclipse where states in the path of totality saw an increase of traffic by 222%. To that extent, Texas is taking a proactive measure to minimize the chance of catastrophic injury by banning the use of oversize loads in eighty-three different counties on April 8th.
Details
Texas is home to 254 counties, with the Texas Department of Transportation banning oversized hauling in the following 83 from midnight to midnight on April 8th:

The easiest solution for oversize haulers is to simply park and wait for the total solar eclipse to pass, but in the world of trucking, taking a day off is easier said than done. Alternative solutions are to avoid these counties, or to avoid Texas altogether if the truck is carrying an oversized load.
Conclusion
If this news comes as unfavorable to you, you can at least take solace in knowing that the next total solar eclipse to hit the United States will be in about another 20 years or so. That means that once this event ends you can go back to regular trucking for quite a long time.
Honestly though, if you are lucky enough to be in Texas during the time of the solar eclipse, you will be missing out if you opt to drive during that time instead of being amazed by the brief period of darkness. Besides, if you are now no longer allowed to go anywhere, you might as well enjoy it.
